Greys River- is a great coastal river flowing form SW Washington. It reminded me of a scaled down version of Robe Canyon. Good crew of PDX'ers and a couple of fun rapids in a pretty gorge. However there is a long fun rapid in the middle of the run and if you choose to go on this run you should be prepared to run it. Otherwise the portage is long/steep and did look harder then just running it. And beware once you commit to this drop there are no eddy's in the middle of it. Stay left at the top and middle and when you see the big boulder seive get right and exit though the hallway at the bottom..... Ty at the bottom of the rapid and Portage..
Opal Creek- This is Oregon classic.. Old growth trees, lots of hippy Oregonians hikers, and crystal clear green water. Mostly read and run class 4 boogie and one scaled down version of BZ. If you choose to walk this one it has either a skecthy seal launch or a throw and jump. Everyone liked the left line and I went for the middle boof and kept my head dry. Dan Laham choose to run it blind and did just fine. I shot some pixs and Chris Bear also had his camera. I would do this run again.
