Summit City Creek

Never Heard of Summit City Creek? Its flows into Fantasy Falls on river right on day two of the North Fork Mall-call all-me River. We hiked 7 miles over a pass to get to this old mining town. Putting on with 50 CFS and ending 8 miles later with 450 it was a great 2 days with the third being on Fantasy. I don't recommend anyone to kayak Summit City Creek. It would make a great hiking trip. More wood then I remember or like and only 7 good drops and some stunning meadows and mountains. The last mile drops over 800 feet and nothing is really runnable. Some descents are the first and last...

Upper Lewis Falls

Upper Lewis Falls is on the North fork of the Lewis river. Flows off the Mt. Adams and runs in to the famous/classic waterfall run East Fork Lewis. This is a very tricky waterfall, not a give-me by any means. I would have liked more h2o, which made getting right harder at this flow. I was a little to far left at the top and would of liked more of a boof. But all went well.

Salmon River Gorge

Salmon River Gorge is one of best day runs in Oregon. Flowing off Mt. Hood and cutting its way though SalmonHUCKberry Wilderness is one of Oregon's coolest canyons. Either hiking 6 miles from the bottom or 2 form the top you have to earn your boof stokes. The run is really only 6 waterfalls and most people only run 5 of them. The last falls, Final falls is a biggin. Be ready to rappel or jump this one if not ready to sack up to this one..

South Yuba 49-Bridgeport

49-Bridgeport is a classic California class V run. After The Dead show in San Fran, we rally to the Yubas. We had a good flow of around 1500 CFS and had a great afternoon of kayaking. The run starts out good with a few fun rapids, then mellows for a bit and ends with some classic grarnite bedrock. This a must do for any class V dirtbagers roaming around California.

Bald Rock

The last section we did on the feather River was the Bald Rock section below the classic Devils canyon. This is a sweet canyon, the middle section of rapids is the best part. What a cool place. Thanks to Steve for the shuttle help on this one..

SBMF Day 2

A lot different then the run above. More rapids and some waterfalls. A really cool portage around the seven falls. The best part is you don't have to hike out after upper section and camp between two big waterfalls.

The view of the edge of the world....
